Woman airlifted after UTV crash

ST. JOHN – A Clarkston woman was airlifted to a hospital April 2 after her off-road vehicle slid into a ditch.
Helenee Hannus, 46, of Tacoma was transported by Life Flight, the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office reporter. She was a passenger in a UTV driven by Curtis Knees, 46, of Clarkston.
The UTV crashed in a ditch at a business parking area along state Highway 23 east of the city, the report said.
No alcohol was involved, but speed was a factor, the report said. Deputies suspect the UTV was spinning doughnuts in the area before the crash.
