COLFAX – Businesses need to collect the additional one-tenth of one percent (.001) sales tax increase for the Whitman County Emergency Communication system.
The new additional tax collection began on April 1. The increase was passed by voters in November 2021 election.
The funding is being used to maintain and improve the county’s emergency communications system for first responders in Whitman County.
The total sales tax rate is now 7.9%.
