Colfax residents must clear sidewalks

December 23, 2021

COLFAX — The City of Colfax wants to remind residents of their responsibilities after a snowfall.

Residents are responsible to remove snow from sidewalks by shoveling snow into their yards and not into the street, according to the city.

Snow from driveways must be shoveled in the yard and not the street.

“When residents shovel or blow snow into the street, the result is more snow in front of the neighbor’s property,” stated a city official.

Residents should keep storm drains and manholes clear of snow. Residents are “encouraged” to keep hydrants clear of snow.

Snowplowing routes priority routes are “Hospital hill, E. Thorn, S. Mill, Cromwell, Moller, and Hauser.”
