Body recovered from Snake River

GRANITE POINT – A man drowned Saturday at Granite Point on the Snake River on Saturday, July 24.

A 9-1-1 call at 4:35 p.m. reported the man missing in the water near the shoreline. It brought first-responders from the Asotin County Sheriff's Office, Asotin County Fire, Whitman County Fire District 14, and the Whitman County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies and firefighters searched the water using boats and personal watercraft, but couldn't locate him, according to Sgt. Dan Brown, of the Whitman County Sheriff's Office.
