Tacoma man charged with choking Pullman woman

Both say they argued over her cellphone

PULLMAN — A woman declined to unlock her phone and was allegedly choked for it.

Demetrius R. Robinson, 34, of Tacoma, is charged with assault in the second degree, assault in the fourth degree, unlawful imprisonment, and harassment – threats to kill, in Whitman County Superior Court.

He was booked into jail at 3:15 a.m. on Monday and appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant as he was “acting excited and not forming sentences,” according to court records.
