Pullman police raise drug disposal awareness

Pullman police join the MED-Project

PULLMAN — Unused prescription medicines can still be dropped off at the Pullman Police Department but in a new drop-off kiosk.

The kiosk is at the police department at 260 SE Kamiaken Street in Pullman.

The police are now part of the MED-Project, a multi-state program providing safe a secure disposal for prescription drugs, according to Chief of Police Gary Jenkins. The group organizes drop-off kiosks, mail-back services, and take-back events.

By joining the MED-Project program, Pullman Police Department will be listed in state and national directories for drug disposal sites.

“For more than 10 years, Pullman (police) has been providing prescription drug disposal service to members of the public. Participation in MED-Project program is reflective of our ongoing commitment to providing safe, free, and accessible prescription drug disposal service to our community,” stated Jenkins.
