Commissioners to consider vacating roads

COLFAX — Whitman County commissioners will consider vacating a list of roads from public maintenance.

Mark Storey, public works director, presented the names to commissioners Monday morning.

The county continues are to decide whether to maintain the stretches of old roads, which serve perhaps one resident, or leave them to be privately maintained or disappear.

The list of roads up for debate is Simpson Road, Old Cole Road and the Beanie Bridge, Crow Road and Trestle Creek Bridge, Cole Road and Hutchinson Road.

All of the roads are in the northwest part of the county....
