A Subaru Forester rests alongside U.S. Highway 195 following a crash Nov. 13 south of Colfax.

The incident occurred in wintry conditions, with gusty winds blowing snow across the roadway, where it was accumulating.

Wright was southbound in her 2004 Cadillac DeVille; Nuccitelli was northbound in her 2018 Subaru Forester, the patrol said.

Wright lost control of her vehicle, which slid sideways in to the northbound lanes and was struck in the drivers side rear quarter-panel by Nuccitelli, the patrol said.

The impact ripped the rear wheel off the Cadillac, which came to rest near the center of the roadway.

The Subaru came to rest on the northbound shoulder.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, the patrol said.

The patrol's report did not say whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, and a cause of the crash was not specified.

The report did not say if charges are pending in the crash.
