Citizen Act of Bravery awarded

COLFAX-The Whitman County Sheriff's Office announced it has recognized Isabelle Fowler and Jordan Campbell of Pullman for their courage and bravery last month during a serious domestic violence situation. Both were presented a Citizen Act Of Bravery Award for their actions on Aug. 1, 2020, that likely saved the life of a fellow citizen, stated the Sheriff's Office.

Fowler and Campbell were delivering papers early Aug. 1 when they noted suspicious activity by an SUV. After passing it once, they circled back to doublecheck. The SUV had parked by then and, after they passed, a woman who had allegedly been kidnapped by a man stating he was going to kill her jumped out of the SUV, entered their sedan and asked for help.

The SUV rammed into the back of their sedan and the alleged attacker got out and attempted to grab one of the witnesses before pulling the victim out of the vehicle, throwing her to the ground and allegedly making stabbing motions with a knife. The attacker was later charged with attempted premeditated murder, kidnapping and three counts of second degree assault.

Plaques were awarded to Fowler and Campbell, in recognition of their "Selfless, Lifesaving Actions."
