Charged for drugs in jail

COLFAX – Charges of violation of the uniform controlled substances act and possession of controlled substance while in a correctional facility were filed against Katrina Taylor, 50, last week when she was allegedly found in possession of heroin after being booked into Whitman County Jail.

Taylor, of Clarkston, was booked into the jail April 30 after the traffic stop of a U-haul resulted in the discovery of heroin.

According to the police report, after being booked, Taylor asked to use the bathroom. When she returned, a jail sergeant noticed something green in her hand. When confronted, Taylor turned over the a green container with a dark colored tar-like substance later confirmed to be heroin.

Allegedly, Taylor told the sergeant she had put the container in her vagina during her contact with law enforcement.

A preliminary appearance is set for June 12, 2020.
