Old school tools in school-age hands

Cooper Schwartz drives a tractor and harrow at Mockonema as part of the seeding operation. While the Palouse Empire Threshing Association normally plants the field using horse-drawn implements, the planting was canceled this year due to gathering restrictions. Instead, some of the associations younger members used antique tractors, harrow and an old grain drill to get the crop in.

The planted wheat was donated by Northwest Grain Growers. Wilbur-Ellis fertilized....
