Jury opts for lesser charge in methamphetamine case

A superior court jury convicted Edward J. Gunn, 57, Pullman, of possession of methamphetamine Aug. 19 after a one-day trial. The jury found Gunn not guilty of the initial charge of drug possession with attempt to deliver and opted for the lesser charge of simple possession.

The case dates back to June 9, 2018, when a known drug user was arrested in Pullman and found to be in possession of a scale, needles and a container, all with heroin residue. On the way to jail, the suspect offered to provide information on Gunn for allegedly selling drugs.
