Tax sessions coming

February 7, 2019

Workshop sessions sponsored by the Colfax Downtown Association on how Business and Occupation (B&O) taxes can stay in Colfax and directly benefit the community will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 7-9 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. in The Center at Colfax Library. This is an open house format, so business owners can stop in any time during the posted hours.

Colfax businesses are eligible for a tax credit worth 75 percent of the contribution for 2020 taxes. Application is made to the Department of Revenue and once approved, the business owners select Colfax Downtown Association for their donation.

Pledges are being accepted through March 31, 2019. Participants then have until November of 2019 to pay their pledge and receive the tax credit for 2020. Businesses are also eligible for a charitable giving tax deduction in 2019 because the Downtown Association is a 501c3 organization.

The final workshop will be March 20, from 7-9 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. at The Center. For more information contact Val Gregory at 509-279-1220.
