Cruz is first baby of 2019

Whitman Hospital and Medical Center welcomed its first baby of the year Monday, Jan. 14.

Caleb Ryder Cruz was born at 9:26 a.m. to Brielle Lubbess and Carlos Cruz Mendez from Tekoa.

Born at six pounds, six ounces and 19 and one-half inches long, Caleb and his mother received a red wagon full of gifts for being 2019's first baby at the hospital. Caleb's older brother, Mathew Cruz, enjoyed checking out the wagon and its contents while Caleb slept.
