Tom's Turkey Drive reaches goal with help

Tom's Turkey Drive in Whitman County Friday and Saturday sold 480 dinners. While not the 603 needed, everything worked out with a little help.

Shawn McAdams, general manager at Rosauers, and Joel Hurley, the butcher at Rosauers, gave some great deals for the drive to be able to meet the needs of all 11 pantries.

"With assistance from good samaritan Shawn, the manager of Rosauers, we were able to get what we needed," said Paige Collins, executive director for the Council on Aging and Human Services.

"Rosauers gave us a smoking hot deal on bone-in turkey breasts to fill the gap between what we sold and what we needed."

Collins believes the drive was a huge success and that it is going to work out just fine.

The rural Whitman County pantries picked up their portions Monday, Nov. 19, between 2 and 5 p.m.
