Endicott hosts 4-gun shoot on July 4

Endicott Gun Club paid out $180 to the top three winners at its first four-gun shoot July 4. The 10 participants shot various targets with shotguns, deer rifles, .22 rifles and pistols.

The shooters, who ranged from 15 to 79 years old, competed to earn as many of the possible 80 points laid out in the courses. The first event was with shotguns and the marksmen had a chance at 10 birds of singles and 10 birds of doubles.

Then they moved to deer rifles to shoot 10 targets placed 100 to 300 yards out. The 10 targets for .22 rifles were 25 to 65 yards out. In both rifle events, the shooter had two...
