Dennis Gransbery, Colfax High School wresting coach, placed third in the Greco tournament in his age division at the Masters National Wrestling tournament last week. The tournament was last Tuesday and Wednesday at the South Point in Las Vegas. He wrestled in the 44-51 age division.

Gransbery placed third with a win in the first period on his final match.

This was the first time he has competed at the masters since 2009 when he placed first in his division.

Coach Gransbery said he started conditioning for the tournament in January, but he was only able to practice one day. He dropped 44 pounds to compete in the 78 kg weight class which normally has the most wrestlers in the tournament. Winner of the class was Kazeka Muniz of Monument, Colo.

He also competed in the freestyle tournament but did not place.
