Heather Netz

What Heather Netz of Malden used to do during her vacation time is now her job. She has been hired as events coordinator for the Palouse Empire Fair. Her job entails coordinating all the events at the county facilities and getting ready for the fair in September.

Netz’s first day on the job was Feb. 5.

“It’s very exciting for me,” Netz said. “I’m very happy I’m here.”

Netz has a long history with fair involvement. She has been the beef superintendent and assistant swine superintendent for the Spokane Interstate Fair, queen coordinator for the Cheney rodeo, livestock booster for Cheney 4H and FFA, founding member of the Cheney FFA alumni association and a 4H leader from 2003 to 2017.

She moved to Malden two years ago after residing at Cheney for 21 years.

She has worked a lot with customer service and sales including 15 years at an auto parts delivery business which dealt with several shops in Whitman County.

She is currently working on locating returning campers for the fair before moving on to the new campers. She will also oversee the arrangements for entertainment, judges and vendors.
