Palouse St. Elmo's sold to Osage duo

Seth Anawalt of Pullman sold the St. Elmo's building in Palouse Jan. 3 to Justin and Lindsay Brown for $185,000.

The Browns are the owners of Osage Woodworking, the Moscow-based company which opened a Palouse showroom in December in a street-level corner of the St. Elmo's building.

The three-story Main Street red-brick property was at one-time the home of St. Elmo's Inn.

An 1888 former railroad-boom hotel, it was built on old pilings, for which a steam machine was used to pound them into the ground.
