Haas duo will depart Boyer Park

Leo and Terri Haas will end their time operating the Boyer Park Marina Dec. 27 after four years. They gave a 90-day notice in September after choosing not to sign a new contract which would have paid less money than the previous deal.

“It was no longer feasible to do business,” said Terri Haas.

As part of their contract each year, the Haas duo ran the store, the restaurant, marina, inn, cabins and campground.

“We think the world of Terri and Leo,” said Joe Poire, executive director for Port of Whitman. “They did a wonderful job. But three to four years is a normal stint. It's a lifestyle job.”

The park's restaurant, Snake River Bar and Grill, closed for the season Nov. 6.
