Thursday, Aug. 3

Colfax – 9:30 a.m. – Yoga for Balance and Aging – A gentle approach to Yoga, focusing on balance, stretching, aromatherapy and strengthening with the use of bolsters, chairs and blankets. Free for adults 65 and older.

Albion – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Thursday Art – Kids - do you like paint? Markers? Colored paper? Then come join us for mixed media art creation.

Albion – 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – Albion Fireside Chats – Come sip a cup of tea and build friendships while chatting with your neighbors and community members. Everyone is welcome to bring knitting or another project as well.

Colfax – First Thursday – Join our community for a "Blast from the Past" by viewing the local Rural Heritage collection, Colfax: Yesterday and Today, displayed downstairs at the library. Then dance the evening away to the tunes of famous Blues performer Sammy Eubanks on West Spring Street from 5-7 p.m.

Uniontown – 6:30 p.m. – CyberSecurity Essentials – Mike J. McCully (CISSP, CIP, and NOAA) will be discussing concerns such as identity theft and web attacks in a presentation titled “Cybersecurity Essentials for Work and Home.”

Friday, Aug. 4

Colfax – Why I Moved to Colfax Photo Exhibit: Chapter 2 – Today is the LAST DAY to view Tom Mohr’s expanded exhibit, featuring updated landscape panoramas and images from the McNeilly Cattle Roundup.

Malden – 11:30 to 1 p.m. – Caregiver Support Group – Melissa Johnson from Rural Resources will be leading a Question and Answer discussion and providing support for anyone in a caregiving position. Coffee and a light lunch are provided.

Saturday, Aug. 5

Colfax – 2 to 4 p.m. – Drop-In Tech Time – All are welcome to drop-in to the NEW TEK Center to receive hands on help with basic computer skills, internet, email, social media, OverDrive and more.

Sunday, Aug. 6

All Branches – Everybody Reads. – Everyone is reading Black River by S.M. Hulse in anticipation of this regional author visiting Whitman County in early November. Check out your copy today.

Monday, Aug. 7 – Sunday, Aug. 13

All Branches of the Whitman County Library are closed for annual maintenance from August 7-13. Online services such as our digital collection on Overdrive, Microsoft Imagine Academy, Rural Heritage and our catalog are available through the library’s website at http://www.whitco.lib.wa.us. Please note the library's online catalog will be unavailable Aug. 8-10 while our system is being upgraded. Thank you for understanding.

Monday, Aug, 7

Rosalia Park – 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Vinyasa Flow Yoga - All skill levels are invited to practice Yoga and enjoy the outdoors. Colfax Schmuck Park – 6 to 7 p.m. – Fitness Boot Camp – Instructor, Carissa Little, will whip you into shape with fast results. Join other participants or bring a friend for support and encouragement. Remember hand weights, a yoga mat and a lot of water.
