Garfield, Farmington clerk will depart

Garfield Clerk/Treasurer and Farmington Treasurer Cody Lord will leave both positions June 12 to move to Tampa, Fla., for a new job.

Lord will join Avatar Nutrition as creative director for the company owned by his sister-in-law.

The software-based company formed just six months ago and teaches people how to monitor protein, fats and carbohydrates.

Lord's replacement has been hired in both towns, with Lord training the new clerk/treasurer in Garfield beginning May 23. He began training Farmington's new treasurer in mid-May.

Lord is also the lessee of the former Farmington Methodist Church. He plans to retain the lease on the building.
