Burglary suspect arrested

Alvord P. Verley, 31, Spokane, another suspect in the Nov. 23 break-in at the Larry Hood residence south of Pullman on Highway 195, was booked into the county jail here April 19. Verley, who had been wanted on an arrest warrant, was charged Jan. 21 with first degree burglary and robbery, kidnapping and attempted burglary. Bail on the warrant had been set at $50,000.

Arrest reports in the case allege suspects broke into Hood’s residence, tied him up, took items from the house and stole Hood’s truck. The truck was later found abandoned in Colfax.

Heather Halseth, another suspect in the case, was booked into jail here Feb. 15 after being transported from the Washington Women’s Corrections Center on a transport order issued by the court. Halseth waived her speedy trial right April 7 to allow more time for negotiation on charges she faces in the same case. She now faces an August trial date.
