Open House set for seed library

An open house introduction to Whitman County Library’s seed library will be Tuesday, April 18, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The concept calls for residents to borrow seeds from the library, plant gardens, harvest the crops and then return some of the harvested seeds to the library for use the following growing season.

The seed library welcomes and shares a variety of seeds that are organic certified, open pollinated, or heirloom seeds. This ensures that the library is doing its best to provide seed that is high quality and can produce a plant true to its variety.

For more information, contact Kristie Korslund at the library.
