Albion pie social slated for Saturday

The annual Guy-Albion Pie Social will be Saturday, April 8. The social is slated from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The annual event, which will have an assortment of pies and ice cream, will be at the community building in Albion.

Funds raised benefit the museum the historical society maintains, as well as the Albion cemetery and archives.

The pie social is the only fundraiser of the Guy-Albion Historical Society and goes to support the museum, which is open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Pie, Ferdinand's ice cream and live music will be available at the event. Pie donations are welcome.

Those who attend the event can renew their membership in the society at that time or become a member.

The youth group and children's ministry of the Tekoa Community Church will have a car wash Sunday, April 9, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in front of Melton Fabrications, 223 N. Crosby St., Tekoa. A donation of $5 is suggested.

The group will also sell walking tacos and beverages.

All proceeds will go to the camp fund at the church, which sends members to Camp N-Sid-Sen on Coeur d'Alene Lake.

Culinary classes set at Dahmen

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is offering two Italian topics in its culinary arts program in April. On April 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., participants can learn to make pizza from scratch, breadsticks and a Caesar salad with resident artist Tracy Randall and enjoy eating what is created at the end of the session. The cost for this class is $35, and registration must be received by April 11.

On Saturday, April 29, from 1 to 3 p.m., students can make focaccia bread on a stone slab plus the herbed olive oil dip. The class fee is $45 for this class, with registration required by April 25. This topic is taught by resident artist Christie Zeoli. Registration may be made online from each of the calendar listings at http://www.artisanbarn.org or by calling 509-229-3414.

at luncheon

Pullman Chamber of Commerce April general membership luncheon will feature Pullman Mayor Glenn Johnson speaking on the state of the city. The new city supervisor, Adam Lincoln, will also be introduced.

The luncheon will begin at noon Tuesday, April 11, at Gladish Community & Cultural Center. Lunch will be catered by Taco Del Mar, and the cost is $15 per person or $12 for Pullman Chamber members. Please RSVP by April 7 to Pullman Chamber of Commerce.
