Pullman driver cited in crash

Steven G. Scott, 23, Pullman, was cited for driving too fast for conditions, following a three-car accident on Highway 195 two miles north of Spangle at 5:57 p.m. Thursday.

A Spangle resident, Gary Whitcomb, 69, was injured in the accident and taken by a private vehicle to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

According to the report from the WSP district office, Scott was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry northbound along the divided section of 195 and went into the median where Whitcomb and Brian Pugliese, 27, Kenilworth, N.J., had become stuck and were out of their vehicles. The Camry struck the 2007 Chevrolet Aveo which had been driven by Whitcomb and the two drivers who were outside of their cars.

Scott was not injured. Pugliese was not injured and was able to leave the scene in the 2004 Chevrolet Impala he had been driving.
