Joe Meilleur owned and operated a Ford Garage in Colfax from 1912 until 1936. He and his wife resided on Cooper Street and the garage was located along Main Street near where the Codger Pole now stands. Meilleur's years at the garage spanned the Model T era of the Ford Motor Co. He sold the garage during the Depression years for $7,000 and retired to Spokane. Meilleur's two children, Claudine and Alfonse, both graduated from Colfax High School. This photo was provided by Meilleur's grandaughter, JoAnne Spencer Stuart, who was raised in Marysville and now resides in Lolo, Mont.
