Oakesdale tops Pirates in title rematch

Oakesdale Nighthawks rolled to Pomeroy and defeated the Pirates in close games Tuesday. The 'hawks took the win with three repeat games scores, 25-22, 25-22 and 25-22.

The game was a rematch of last year's 1B title game with the Nighthawks as the defending champs. Jacey Johnson, now a senior, had 18 kills for the 'hawks, and Maddie Shrope put up 36 assists. Lindsey Lindgren, also now a senior, booked 10 digs.

Sydney Smith of Pomeroy served 12-for-12 with two aces and had 23 assists, Kacey Halvet hit 10 kills.

Colton traveled to Asotin Tuesday and rolled out a three-game match win over its 2B neighbors, 25-10, 25-17 and 27-17. Kendyl Druffel hit six kills against the Panthers, and Emily Schultheis booked three blocks.

Jordyn Moehrle had eight digs.

The Wildcats graduated four seniors off of last year's team and now have just 10 players on the roster with no freshmen on the club.
