Bulldogs opt for Oakesdale grid for temporary home

Colfax school officials decided late last week to move Friday's home football opener to the field in Oakesdale. Athletic Director Nathan Holbrook said the decision was made because of delays in the construction project for the new Colfax track at Schmuck Park. Rain late last week delayed paving for the track and more rain fell Tuesday.

Colfax and Oakesdale officials last month made arrangements for the Bulldogs to use the Oakesdale field in the event the Colfax track project made the football field unusable here. The Oakesdale field has been out of use for football for the last two years because the Nighthawks do not field a football team.

Asotin will be the visiting team. The Panthers made their debut in the NE League Friday with a 27-0 shutout of Lind/Ritzville/Sprague, last year's league champions.

Colfax also has home games booked with LRS Sept. 23 and Northwest Christian Sept. 30.
