Katrin Kunz joins county planning staff

Katrin Kunz began duties in the Whitman County Planning office Sept. 1. She replaces Jerry Basler, who took a job in Spokane County to be closer to home.

A native of Germany, Kunz studied planning at Kaiserslautern University of Technology.

She and her husband, Henning, relocated to San Diego for Henning's studies, and she was employed as a planning intern in San Diego before moving to Pullman with her husband two years ago. Henning took a job at WSU.

Prior to accepting the assistant county planning job, Kunz was a stay-at-home mom.
