New yoga studio now open in Palouse

Tiana Gregg, owner, painted the mural herself in the new studio space next to The Green Frog. Gregg has opened The Bends Yoga House in Palouse and will host a grand opening Sept. 9.

The space was open, she was a co-owner of the building and thought, ''why not?”

The Bends Yoga House in Palouse will have its grand opening Sept. 9.

In the same building as The Green Frog Cafe, its co-owner Tiana Gregg runs the new yoga operation, after being certified as an instructor earlier this year.

By coincidence the former Bridge Street Styles hair salon went out this spring.

“Every time I thought about opening a studio in there, it was just too overwhelming,” Gregg said. “But oh well, I might as well try it.”

Gregg, who has taught an exercise class at the Palouse High School gym for the past five years, and a yoga class there for three years, will now teach six sessions during the week at the new studio.

Beginners classes are called “101,” followed by “House Flow” for intermediates and “Fire Flow” for advanced.

The space has received new paint and a wood floor,

Cost will be $10 per session for drop-ins and varying rates for the full classes. Most participants bring their own mats while some are available to borrow.

The Bends will be open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with Gregg operating around days off from The Green Frog.

The Sept. 9 grand opening will be a joint “Meet the Artist” event for Tim Doebler, whose stained-glass work is displayed at The Green Frog.

Gregg's certification came from Sanctuary Yoga, Barre and Dance, in Pullman, reaching the 200 hours threshold.
