Farmers Market Week to be observed Saturday

National Farmers Market Week will be marked at the weekly Moscow Farmers Market Saturday.

The celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 13 with Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert reading the National Farmers Market Week proclamation. Market goers can get a raffle ticket by the city tent next to the clock in Friendship Square prior to the drawing. Baskets can also be viewed there.

A food drive will also be occurring during the market this week, with donations of non-perishable food and household items being collected for the Great Moscow Food Drive. The donations will benefit the Trinity Food Pantry and Moscow Food Bank, and cash and checks will also be accepted. Donations will be collected at Friendship Square from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Additional events for Saturday include the USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council sharing information about pulses from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. by the fountain in Friendship Square and a kids produce tasting from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. by the city tent.
