Direct seed demonstration June 8 at Eriksen farm

The Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District is hosting a demonstration of the Shelbourne-Reynolds Stripper Header and direct seed drills on the Eriksen farm west of St. John Wednesday, June 8.

The demonstrations will begin at 8:30 a.m., and there is no need to register, said Dan Harwood, district coordinator.

“Direct seed is where you seed and fertilize in one or two passes,” Harwood explained. “It reduces soil erosion by 95 percent. The more residue we can keep on the soil, the better off we are.”
