County building permits show big gain in quarter

County Building Inspector Dan Gladwill presented a first quarter report for 2016 to county commissioners last week.

He noted 52 building permits were issued with five more pending.

“Which is quite a bunch,” he said.

Total projects value were $2,256,769, compared to $798,378 in 2015.

“First quarter numbers jump around a lot because of weather and other factors,” said Mark Storey, county public works director. “Remember, this is just comparing first quarter to first quarter.”

Gladwill reported three new house starts and a mobile home.

Total inspections were 121 with 35 total final inspections.
