Endicott club gets variety of reports

Endicott

Endicott Community Club (ECC) met April 5. As a guest, Linda Greenhalgh from the Endicott PTO reported on the events coming up and encouraged parents and the community to join the group, which meets the first Thursday each month. Dues are $10 per year. It was reported that the cemetery has decided to change the flag poles used at the cemetery to metal.

The Flea Market committee is busy getting ready for the event which will be May 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Flyers and advertising will be posted soon. The entertainment for July 4 was also discussed. Spring Cleanup is coming up, and the ECC will allow $200 for gas used in farm trucks (upon presentation of a bill for gas) which will help haul garbage to the dump. ECC decided to purchase a sound system to be used for July 4, Christmas and others times throughout the year.

Willy and Anne Lowe returned from a 12-day trip to Yuma, Ariz., and Needles, Calif., to visit friends. In Yuma, they visited Gary and Grace Meisner and many friends whom they have known over the years. In Needles, they visited Lloyd Hartshorn, an Alaskan/ Montana friend for several days. His son, Pat Hartshorn, was there from Alaska on a business trip. Time was spent catching up on old and new adventures and enjoying the warm weather.

Visiting the home of Willy and Anne Lowe April 8 and 9 were their daughter and her husband, Dee Anne and Douglas Hill, during Dee Anne's spring break from teaching in the Kent School District. The weather was wonderful, and they did a lot of spring work outside.
