Code change clarifies mini-storage operation

Whitman County Commissioners approved a revision Dec. 21 to county codes to specifically allow a mini-storage to be put in a light industrial district.

The change clarifies the code which came into question after landowners expressed interest in a potential mini-storage operation at Whelan Road and Highway 27 north of Pullman.

“The code, in my opinion, didn't say the two magic words, 'mini-storage,'” said Whitman County Planner Alan Thomson. “It's tidying up the ordinance.”
