Truman Capote's
'Holiday Memories'
Regional Theater of the Palouse's After Dark series will present Truman Capote’s “Holiday Memories” in an eastern Washington premiere Dec. 9, 10, 11 and 12 at 8:30 p.m. at the RTOP Theatre, 122 N. Grand Ave., Pullman. Based on two short stories by Capote, the play is set in rural, Depression-era Alabama.
This play is directed by Anthony Luetkenhaus.
This play of evocative memories follows Buddy (young Capote) and his elderly cousin (Miss Sook) as they deal with the school bully, make fruitcake for Eleanor Roosevelt and cut down the perfect Christmas tree.
Tickets are $10 general admission and can be ordered by calling the theater box office, Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Christmas Child's
collection week
During Operation Christmas Child's National Collection Week in Whitman County Nov. 16-23, residents contributed to the Spokane Operation Christmas Child area team collection of 16,100 gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need.
Throughout the year, Whitman County churches, businesses, schools and individuals filled shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies and notes of encouragement.
Santa will stop
in Farmington
Santa Claus will visit the fire station in Farmington Friday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m. There will be crafts and treats for children, as well as a photo opportunity with Santa.
