Faulty warrant ends LaCrosse area pot case

A second major marijuana case in Whitman County has been dismissed under court rulings made in the wake of state voters’ approval to legalize marijuana. The case involved a May 7, 2014, raid on an alleged marijuana grow operation along Highway 26 near LaCrosse. A total of 410 marijuana plants were allegedly confiscated in the case.

The raid resulted in charges of manufacturing marijuana against Mark Brown, 47, then of Pullman, and Peter A. Manning, 51, who resided at the alleged grow site. Both were charged with manufacturing marijuana.
