Farmington files two levy proposals

Farmington’s city council April 20 approved two levy proposals for the Aug. 4 primary election.

Proposition one would levy a special tax to generate $12,000 for street maintenance. The estimated levy rate will be $1.08 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.

Proposition two will ask voters whether the town of Farmington should levy a special tax of $8,000 on an estimated 72 cents per $1,000 for the current expense fund. Both levies would be collected in 2016.
