Board to consider grad requirements

The Colfax school board had a preliminary discussion Monday night at its regular meeting about potential changes to graduation requirements. No action was taken, with boardmembers asking Superintendent Michael Morgan to include the matter on its agenda for their next meeting, Tuesday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at Jennings Elementary School.

The discussion Monday mainly regarded the requirement of the senior project and talk of reducing the extent of the students’ subsequent portfolio.

Before its next meeting, the board will conduct a half-hour work session regarding college credits for high school students.

Meeting and work sessions are open to the public.
