Brother, sister plan Over the Edge entry

Laura Buckley Lautenslager (above) of Rosalia and David Buckley (at right) plan to ascend the Bank of America Financial Building in downtown Spokane this June and rappel down 20 stories to benefit Special Olympics. Over the Edge gives participants who raise a minimum amount of money the opportunity to rappel off a selected building. They are participating in memory of their late uncle Mike Shea, who was a longtime Colfax area resident.

All of the donations will go to Special Olympics to support local athletes such as Colfax's Billy Swank. Each has a fund goal of $1,000 and must reach that goal to secure their rappel time.

Barney and Gerianne Buckley of Colfax are parents of the duo. Laura lives in Rosalia with her husband John and daughter Samantha. She works at Whitman Medical Group as a medical assistant, is a student at Horizon Medical Institute and volunteers as a firefighter/EMT with Rosalia. David lives in Colfax. He is a student at SFCC Pullman, an organist for the Catholic churches in Pullman and Colfax and a volunteer firefighter/EMT in Colfax. This will be Laura's third year doing Over the Edge and David's second.
