Uniontown benefit a success

A steady stream of patrons attended the spaghetti dinner at New Sage Bakery last Sunday evening.

The event was a fund-raiser for the Uniontown Library, which has plans to expand its current location.

According to Nichole Jordan, branch manager of the Uniontown Library, the effort successfully reached its goal of raising $2,500 and will receive matching funds from Avista.

More than 20 volunteers assisted with seating, serving and general customer service, including several Whitman County Library employees.

Sage donated the use of its facility and the labor of its staff.

Desserts were all donated by community members.

Jordan, also one of the organizers of the event, was grateful for all the volunteers and the Uniontown community in general for helping the library achieve its goal.
