Ukranian egg decorating workshop set at Dahmen

A workshop on the Ukrainian style of egg decorating will be at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown Sunday, March 8, from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. Instructor Margaret Dibble learned to make Ukrainian egg designs about 30 years ago and has been teaching others to make them ever since.

Eggs are dyed in a wax resist (like batik) process. No experience is necessary and all materials will be supplied. Participants may complete two eggs. The last step in the process is varnishing the eggs. They will need to dry several days, so may be picked up the following week.

The cost of the workshop is $15 for adults. Registrations are required by March 6. There is a maximum of 10 students and a minimum of three.
