Smiths make visit to Yakima

Recently, Harmon and Jan Smith spent a week in Yakima with grandson Micah Morgan while his parents were away for business. Micah participated in the "Big Brother-Little Brother Night" at Riverside Christian School. He ran out on the floor to be introduced alongside his "Big Brother" who also is named Micah. Saturday the Smiths were again in Yakima to cheer on Micah's basketball team. Sunday Micah, his parents Gina and Jason Morgan, and Jan and Harmon traveled to Mercer Island to cheer on Harmon's nephew, Parker Smith, and his team.

Dale Broeckel is not only recuperating at his home from his hospital release, but also from double knee replacement surgery.

Art Sager flew to Priest River, Idaho, and took an airport courtesy car to Newport to attend the memorial services for former Hay resident Frank Henley.

Mockonema 4H Club, led by Eric and Shannon Appel, met at the Wilcox Grange Sunday afternoon for a potluck dinner and to perform their community service. Twenty-six 4-H members and 18 parents spent part of the afternoon with Homestead Ministries putting together 600 bags of soup mixes to be handed out at various venues for those in need.

Sunday afternoon Steve and Becky Camp, Pastor Steve and Darla Szasz and David and Phyllis Stueckle enjoyed dinner at the Sol Vallarta in Colfax after morning worship services at Country Bible Church.

Graveside services for D. J. Fennimore, 62, who died last Friday, will be at the LaCrosse Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28. A celebration of life will follow at the LaCrosse Community Club Building (formerly the Masonic Hall).
