Johnson earns PLU award

Colfax senior Kasey Johnson has been awarded a $24,000 President's Scholarship from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. Recipients of 140 president's scholarships have been awarded for incoming freshmen at the school.

The scholarships are awarded to students who have achieved a grade average of 3.8 or higher and demonstrated significant leadership and service during their high school careers.

This year the President's Scholarship recipients scored an average 1297 SAT test score, earned a 30 ACT test score and have a 3.99 grade average.

Pacific Lutheran University is a private liberal arts university in Tacoma.

Johnson is the son of Dr. Bryan and Debbie Johnson of Colfax.
