Launch of the post office building

Colfax Chamber of Commerce proponents of a new post office for Colfax took time for this ground-breaking photo on the morning of Oct. 19, 1931.

Postmaster Art Eldridge was in the cab of the machine.

The building in the background is the former IOOF building which was located on the drive through lot for Columbia Bank.

The A line configuration of the back of the house, which is located along Mill Street, can still be seen by customers who use the drive-through window at the bank.
