McManus show

set at Empire

Tim Behrens will perform a "A Fine and Pleasant Misery," the first of the Patrick McManus Comedies, at the Empire Theatre in Tekoa, Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m.

The one-man show introduces 12 zany McManus characters. Among them are woodsman Rancid Crabtree, daft old Mrs. Swisher, Strange the Dog and a deer on a bicycle.

McManus is one of the most popular humor writers in the country. His 24 titles have sold more than six million copies, and five of his collections of short humor have made the top 10 of the NY Times Bestseller’s list. Behrens has toured the stage shows to 23 states in 22 years.

Admission will be $20 for adults and $8 for kids 16 and under. Call 509-284 2000.

slated at Colton

A Holiday Happening, with items offered by many vendors will be Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Guardian Angel-St. Boniface Catholic School in Colton. Lunch will be offered by school staff members and students.

Cattlemen set

annual banquet

Spokane County Cattlemen's annual banquet will be Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Spokane Airport Ramada Inn with a hospitality room open at 4 p.m. and prime rib dinner at 6 p.m. A live and silent auction will follow and music will be played by the Sunset Band.

The banquet is open to the public and tickets are $40 each.

Jordan boy born

Sullivan Lee Jordan was born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane last Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at eight pounds, to Ross and Erin Jordan of Cheney. Grandparents are Greg and Muriel Jordan, St. John, and Ron and Pam Soliday. He joins siblings Estelle 6, Gracelyn 4 and Emmett 1.
