City, students join for project

A collaboration between the city of Colfax and the Colfax High School class of 2017 is underway.

Mayor Todd Vanek began a series of meetings with the freshman class this winter to introduce a restroom-construction project for Schmuck Park which the students will be involved in bringing to reality.

It will be a joint venture between the school and the city – encompassing planning, budgeting, fund raising, gathering bids and eventually construction.

“Our hope is that this is their stamp on the school,” Vanek said.
