Transfer station bids top $3.5 mil mark

Whitman County commissioners Monday morning opened two bids for the new Carothers Road Transfer Station Building.

A third bid was rejected because it arrived past the 11 a.m. deadline.

Clearwater Construction of Spokane submitted a base bid of $3,551,820, and Halme Builders of Davenport put in a base bid of $3,798,330.

The new transfer station building was included in the county’s public works department budget for this year.
