Farm bill impacts set for public meet

A public meeting entitled “Impacts of the Farm Bill on Both Farmers and Consumers,” will be Monday, March 3, 7 to 9 p.m., in the Gold Room of the Gladish Community and Cultural Center.

The federal Farm Bill has a direct effect on the prices that each consumer pays for food and on the income that each producer makes.

A panel of experts includes Palouse farmer Ben Barstow; Tory Bye, director of the Whitman County Farm Service Agency, and Dr. Joe Guenther, retired University of Idaho Agricultural Economics professor. Each will use his personal experience and perspective to discuss various aspects...
